Job Description

To conduct payroll administration for all CHG employees (Monthly and Weekly) and to ensure the accuracy of payroll-related information of all employees and potential recruits. The incumbent liaises between CHG Head Office and Hospitals to ensure the accuracy of payroll reporting, processing and adherence to relevant RSA legislation.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource or Finance.
  • Payroll certification.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in payroll.
  • SAP and Excel experience.
  • Experience with or Knowledge of Time and Attendance Management Systems (e.g. KRONOS)
  • Healthcare experience will be advantageous

Minimum work experience:

  • Ensure all CHG policies and procedures with Payroll implications are always followed.
  • Quality checks all relevant information (benefit administration, leave management and workflows) required for efficient payroll management to ensure accuracy.
  • In collaboration with HR and when requested, provide dummy payslips for new employees.
  • Prepare all UIF documentation in support of terminations, maternity leave and other applicable processes.
  • Provide clarity on Payroll issues raised by various stakeholders.
  • Report monthly costs of increases and agency staff costs for comprehensive payroll reporting.
  • Investigate and understand stakeholders needs to enable delivery of a quality service.
  • Assist team members and ensure that overall payroll and finance goals and targets are reached.
  • Resolve and respond to all queries, payroll related questions and requests for information in a timeous manner.
  • Identify repeat failures that contribute to wastage.
  • Ensure payroll documentation is maintained to support accurate record keeping and future requirements as per legislation.
  • Analyse information and reports to identify trends, discrepancies and inconstancies for decision making.
  • Engage with external tax authorities as needed (i.e., ad hoc SARS requests)
  • Ensure all data is correct of data captured, examine reports before dissemination thereof and conduct regular quality assurance.
