Job Description
To promote and maintain a fair, compliant, and productive workplace by managing employee relations, ensuring adherence to labor laws and company policies, and facilitating effective communication between employees and management. Handle grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters, providing guidance on employment policies, leading collective bargaining processes, and fostering a positive work environment that aligns with Clinix’s goals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations or Labour Law.
- 5-7 years’ experience.
- Experience working with unions, employee representatives, and various stakeholder groups is beneficial.
- Experience in collective bargaining and union regulations.
Minimum work experience:
- Develop and implement collective bargaining strategies that align with CHG objectives to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Lead negotiations with trade unions, by representing CHG during collective bargaining discussions to secure fair and sustainable agreements, while balancing the interests of both employers and employees.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to all legal and procedural requirements related to collective bargaining and union relations.
- Establish consistent policies and practices for managing union relationships across all Clinix’s Facilities to ensure an optimal working environment.
- Represent the organization in cases brought before the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration (CCMA) or the Labour Court.
- Address grievances or concerns before they escalate into conflicts.
- Develop and implement policies on disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, and workplace conduct.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations, such as the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Employment Equity Act (EEA), and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Ensuring disciplinary actions and dismissals are handled fairly, consistently, and in compliance with labour laws.
- Be a liaison between stakeholders by facilitating seamless communication and understanding between employees, unions, and management to ensure alignment on business priorities.
- Participate in committee meetings and forums.
- Ensure good governance including the effective use of management systems to monitor compliance to business direction and policies.
- Drive adherence to statutory standards, policies, and procedures within the business unit to ensure compliance at all times and take remedial action where necessary.
